Diagnosed With COPD. Noticed Small Nodule In Lower Lobe Of Lung. Developed Swelling In Left Breast. Related To Nodule?
Hello I am a 63 yr old female. I was diagnosed with COPD Last Year. I had many tests done during that year and they found a small nodule it was in my right lung in the lower lobe region . The doctors wanted to watch it for growth. This Aug. I had another ct scan done and it has grown 3cm it was 12 now it is 15. My question is after all of the tests and retest with a pet/ct scan now my left breast is swollen to twice its size . Could this be related to the Lung Nodule?
With CT findings of a mass in lung growing by 3 cms (from 12 to 15 cms) in one year, making a pathological diagnosis is essential. A mass of such dimension is large and not small nodule as written by you. Please re confirm your measurements.
I have come across literature mentioning that in your situation, a CT guided FNAC of biopsy can be safely done. Depending on the pathological diagnosis, treatment can be initiated if felt necessary.
The swelling in your left breast needs evaluation by mammographyx ray or ultrasound and further treatment. Most likely it is not related to your lung problem if you are having this for the first time.
Hope this helps
