Diagnosed With Ceoliac Disease. On Gluten Free Diet. Has Gastroscopy And Confirmed No Ceoliac Disease. Can It Regrow?

My son was diagnosed with Ceoliac Disease at age 10 having a bowel biopsy to confirm this disease. He spent quite a few years on a gluten free diet. He is now 24 and has not been on a gluten free diet for some time now (years) and has just recently has a gastroscopy and the surgeon has confirmed he has no signs of ceoliac disease and everything looks great. Is it possible to grow out of Ceoliac disease?

Internal Medicine Specialist 's  Response
Hi there,

Thanks for posting your query. I will try to reply to your query to the best of your satisfaction.

You are right in concluding that your son is free from symptoms of Celiac disease at this age, despite having stopped gluten free diet.

In a majority of patients who are diagnosed as having Coeliac disease in their childhood, recover completely in their adulthood. However, in a small minority of such cases, there is a remote possibility of resurgence.

So, please rest assured that your son has grown out of the disease and will lead a healthy life.

Please do not hesitate in reverting back to me in case of further clarifications, if any.

Have a nice day

SOMETIMES IN A PERSON IMMUNOTY INCREASES AND IF IMMUNITY IS FULLY DEVELOPED THE PRSON CAN BE OUT OF DISEASE
IF YOU WANT TO BE DOUBLE CONFIRMATION GET BLOOD SERUM TETS FOR SPECIFIC ANTIBODIES FOR WHEAT GLUTEN
YOUCAN ALSO SEE FOR OTHER FOODS
IF THERE ARE NO SPECIFIC ANTIBODY INCRESE IN SERUM IT IS EXCELLENT
