Diagnosed With Costochonditis. Given Ibuprofen But Asked Not To Take, It Causes Internal Bleeding. On Nexplanon. Suggest?
Hello, last night I went to my local Er and was diagnosed with "Costochonditis". The pain is accurate to the diagnosis, but they blamed it on smoking. Could this really be all on smoking? They did not ask a lot of questions either. They also told me to take 800mg ibprofen 8times daily for 5 days. They did not write a script. I am on "Nexplanon" for birth control and was told not to take ibprofen because it can cause internal bleeding. Without a prescription I would be taking 32pills daily. The question being by taking more pills is it going to further increase the likelihood of internal bleeding? I am a 22yr old female smoking for 13yrs.

Yes, please avoid the ibuprofen at all cost. First of all preacribing 32 pills of ibuprofen a day itself is very unprofessional.
I would advice you to strictly keep away from this medication.
