Diagnosed With IgA, A1AT Deficiency. Have Swollen Cervical, Inguinal Lymph Nodes. Can Immunodeficiency Cause Diarrhea And Nausea?
I have had swollen cervical, axillary and ingunial lymph nodes for 22 weeks now accompanied by flushings, night sweats, drastic changes in weight and fatigue. I have recently been diagnosed with iga deficiency, hypogammaglobinemia and a1at deficiency and am under investigation with immunology. However over the past 5 days or so I have been suffering from diarrhea and nausea every time I eat. Could this be something other than immunodeficiencies?
IgA is an inmmunoglobuline which normally covers digestive tract and is a first line of protection. So diarrhea and nausea can be very often present with this deficiency. Other infections like ear infection, throat, lungs etc. are also very characteristic for this condition. However it is necessary to rule out some possible reasons of IgA deficiency. If you are older than 45, chest CT is necessary to rule thymus tumors. Leukemia should be also considered as a reason of your problems. I suggest you to consult hematologist.
Hope this will help. Regards.
