Diagnosed With RA. Body Temperature Low After Taking Medications. Does Not Settle Down With Blankets Also. Normal?
Hi After being diagnosed the end of Sep. with RA medications of Hydroxychloroquine 200 and Prednisone 10 was a given. Started medication Oct. 1st and have had 3 nights where body temp was so cold to be touched the skin felt ice cold. Is this normal? Also no amount of blankets would warm up. It eventually settled. Last night at a wedding you could feel the cold skin through the suit.

General & Family Physician, Dr. Lohit K's Response
Hi, you need to report this to your treating doctor and needs general physical examination once. This may be due to vasoconstriction or due to any other side effects of Hydroxychloroquine. The prednisolone may be reducing the symptoms of drug allergy/side effects. So consult your doctor once to adjust the dose/change the drug if he feels the problem is due to drug.
Hope this helps you.
Regards
