Hello and welcome to HCM,
A cause of
hypercalcemia (raised blood calcium) needs to be found out.
Increase in calcium levels occurs in vitamin D intoxication,
milk alkali syndrome,
hyperparathyroidism, or para-neoplastic syndrome associated with some malignany.
Parathyroid
hyperplasia or parathyroid tumors are a common cause of hypercalcemia.
Difficulty in swallowing is one of the manifestation of hypercalcemia.
Hypercalcemia can be dangerous and can cause
cardiac dysfunction also.
So, the levels of calcium have to be decreased.
Consult your physician for treatment.
The red lumps may be un-associated with hypercalcemia.
A X-ray of the elbow joint will identify if the swelling is arising from bone.
If not an aspiration of the swelling needs to be done.
Aspiration cytology will identify the site of origin and the nature of the lesion.
Consult your doctor for further work up.
Thanks and take care
