Discontinued The Usage Of Minocycline Pills For Adult Acne, Recurring Pimples. Right Treatment ?

Hi, I have a bottle of my of
Minocycline pills that were prescribed last year on December 22, 2012 . Unfortunetaly I stopped taking them and left half of the container full. The pills were prescribed for my adult acne. Lately, I have reoccurring pimples on my skin and would like to continue with the medication. Do you think they are expired even though there is no expiration date on the container and also do you think it's a good idea to take them again.?

Hello,
It is not a good idea to continue an antibiotic treatment you discontinued in the past. That way you allowed the bacteria to grow resistant to this particular antibiotic. Azithromycin is a good alternative for acne treatmen combined with topical products. Anyways, you should contact your dermatologist. It is important to follow antibiotic treatment strictly to achieve results.
