Dizziness And Sleepiness. Taking Zeptol CR For Seizures. How To Manage This?
hi, i am from india, mydaughter is21 years old she had 2 times seizures from past 4 months first in july 2013 and the second few days back.
we have consulted neuro, and brain mri done and came to know she has some SCAR in the brain, and adviced to have tab ZEPTOL CR 400 MG twice a day for next three years.
also he adviced to start with 200mg tab for thee days and slowly increase to 400 mg after one week.
my question is she is working and as this medicine is making her sleepy. how do she has to manage or over come her sleep or dizzeness at work.
Your neurologist has put you on the right medications for the seizure, it is true that sleepiness is one of the side effect of it. But this effect tends to wear off in two weeks time as she gets used to the medicines. Alternatively you can ask the neurologist if she can be shifted over to Levetracetam which has less sedativeness than the medication you are currently on. Please approach your neurologist with my suggestion
I hope I was of help
Regards
