Do Althea, Captopril And Xenical Medication Interfere With Each Other?
Hi i have a multicyst ovaries and my ob give me pills as a solution. its althea. and also i m hi blood, i have a maintenance its captopril. i also need to loss weight to have baby. i use xenical to lower my weight. is theres any conflict with with this 3 medicine?
There is no conflict with these medicines. Xenical is generally taken three times a day with each meal. However, if taken along with althea and captopril it may reduce their absorption thus likely to reduce their efficacies in treating multicyst ovaries and high BP respectively. To prevent this althea and captopril should be taken at least 2 hours before or after the administration of xenical, such as at bedtime.
Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Mohammed Taher Ali, General & Family Physician
