Do Doctors(specialist) Typically Call Your GP To Tell Them What To Do With Patient?
Do Doctors(specialist) typically calll your GP to tell them what to do with patient?
Had surgery 3 weeks ago, called surgeon for meds(vicodin), he denied because he doesnt prescribe meds at 3 weeks, so I was honest and told him I was going to see my Primary Doctor to deal with pain. In my file it said DO NOT Give pain meds. I have only had 15 vicodins post op from surgeon. I feel violated and embaressed now.
Hi and welcome to HCM.
Yes, they communicate and they should. YOu can ask for some other painkillers, not vicodin. Vicodin isnt usual drug for postoperative pain. Why do you insist on it? DOctors must do everything to help you and prevent complications. I am sure you can find the best solution for pain in consultation with your GP.
Wish you good health.
