Do Pressing Tonsils Harshly While Having Tonsillitis Has Adverse Affect?
I am suffering from Tonsillitis and every day the pain is getting higher and higher. I don t wanna go for oral operation. So I harshly pressed Tonsil from inside which in result threw some blood out from that area. Next day my pain has got reduced and also it lesson the size of tonsils. Do Pressing tonsils harshly has adverse affect ?
Pressing on tonsils in tonsillitis case can spread the infection locally as well as to the blood stream and can cause severe bacteremia or septicemia. Hence it is advised not to press on tonsil at all. Another reason is that tonsil has lots of blood supply and if there is rupture or so then it is most difficult to control the bleeding which may need emergency surgery. Take a proper cause of an antibiotic, anti-inflammatory medicines under the prescription of your Doctor or an ENT Surgeon after proper clinical evaluation, examination and investigations.
