Do You Suggest TENS Medication For Extremely Painful Foot And Neuropathy For A Diabetic Patient?

My husband has VERY painful foot pain and neuropathy. He is a diabetic but doctors have ruled this out because his diabetes is under control. He's tried ibuprofen and Tylenol, stronger drugs are not an option. What about TENS? And who administers it? I see you can buy units online but I would want to try it first for effectiveness?
