Hi,I am Dr. Amitkumar Sharma (Internal Medicine Specialist). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
I did not know whether to go through with this or not. I have read some of the regulations. I am 81 years old. I have problems with my hearing. I had a dizzy spell about six months ago. and had to go to a hospital. A doctor called it Verdigo. I still have dizzy spells sometimes. I am not worried about it, what I am worried about is my right ear is half stopped up, but I can hear good out of my left one. There is a chirruping sound coming out of the right ear sometime, the doctor says it is old age, I disagree with him. I also have a lot of ear wax in the right ear. The doctor's nurse cleaned out both ears. A person can hear the chirruping and thinks it is the smoke detector with low batteries, but it is not. I am wondering why the chirruping sound is going on. It has been going on for several months. The doctor says it is old age and high blood pressure, my B.P is about 140 over something. Could you tell me why that may be?
It is likely that you have Meniere's disease (involvement of the middle ear), possibly associated with rupture of the ear drum, which is probably causing tinnitus (chirping sound) in the affected ear.
I therefore suggest that you directly consult an ENT doctor, who will examine your ear and conduct tests to assess the degree of hearing and the status of hearing nerve and the hearing apparatus.
Based on the test reports, he will prescribe appropriate treatment.
