Does Citalopram Cause Acne Like Side Effects?
Does Citalopram at 20 mg cause acne and extreme tiredness? I was bumped up from 10 to 20 a couple weeks ago and now it seems like my acne is really flaring up and I am sleeping 24/7! I am 19, 120 pounds, and I was diagnosed with depression this summer.

Understanding your concern.
As per your query you have symptoms of acne like side effects on face after intake pf Citalopram which is due to hormonal change during puberty , androgen hormones stimulate more sebum to be produced and a greater amount of skin cells to proliferate. Need not worry. Exfoliate gently once or twice a day with a salicylic acid-based exfoliant. Apply benzoyl peroxide cream or gel for killing the bacteria in the pore . Wash your face using a mild soap or cleanser and lukewarm water. I would suggest you to visit dermatologist once and get it examined. Doctor may prescribe oral antibiotics like clindamycin , Isotretinoin or Hormone Therapy.
