Hi,I am Dr. Santosh Kondekar (Pediatrician). I will be looking into your question and guiding you through the process. Please write your question below.
My 2yr 1 month old daughter had water like loose motion on Friday. From Friday evening she is having a) Gramogyl & b) Enterogermina (Oral). Her loose motion stopped immediately followed by a abnormal increment of hunger. Milk, Eggs & all wheat products were stopped in between. After the dosage of 3 days passed yesterday she again had loss of appetite. Today she had a mild loose stool + suffered acute loss of appetite. Doctor has asked to take the same medicines twice daily - after consuming Gramogyl @ 7, she is again showing signs of abnormal increment of hunger. a) Does Gramogyl increase hunger ? b) Is it safe for a 2yr old baby ?

Does Gramogyl Increase Hunger ?
Hi, Gramogyl does not increase hunger and this increase in hunger which you are saying is physiological while recovering from diarrhea. Unless there is blood in the motion there is no need to use any antibiotic like gramogyl in diarrhea. But for your question whether it is safe or not it is safe in this age group. Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further. Regards, Dr. Sumanth Amperayani, Pediatrician, Pulmonology
