Hi, I have started to consume Nutrilite Protein Powder (Amway) 2 days ago. I am 32 years old and have some acne on my face(sensitive and oily skin). The reason I am taking this product is to maintain better skin overall. My question is does this protein powder can cause acne? Pls advice
I have gone through your query and can understand your concern..
As per your complain it is true that intake of certain protein supplements that contain milk hormones can lead to acne eruption on face and intake of proteins is more recommended in gaining muscle mass and other conditions but intake for skin maintenance is not recommended on a frequent basis.. I would suggest you to consult a Nutritionist before you proceed with protein or any other supplements to confirm that you exactly need it or not.. As far as acne is concerned you can apply benzoyl peroxide and clindamycin on face.. You can also apply Retinoid containing gel like Adapelene.. Scrub your face twice a week with a gentle scrub.. Do cool compresses over pimples.. Wash your face with a mild facewash containing Salicylic acid ..Take multivitamin supplements daily..
Hope this information helps..
Thanks and regards. Dr.Honey Nandwani Arora..
