Does Rigevidon Cause Acne And Is It A Good Medicine?
Hello, I have been to the doctors today and they have changed my pill from dianette to rigevidon. I have been taking dianette for 10 years due to bad ache but has now settled down. I was wandering if the rigevidon is a good pill to be taking and if it will make my acne come back etc?
Rigevidon is a combined contraceptive pill. It is composed of two active ingredients: ethinylestradiol 30 micrograms and levonorgestrel 150 micrograms. Common side effects include Feeling sick, Abdominal pain, Headache, Breast pain or tenderness, Mild bleeding or spotting between periods in the first few months, Mood changes and Fluid retention. Most of these side effects are common for oral contraceptive pills. Dianette also contains ethinylestradiol, a form of oestrogen, while cyproterone functions as a form of progesterone.
You can take Rigevidon as prescribed and look for any side effects which, if happens becomes persistent. In such a case, you may need to change the medication which could suit you.
Hope I have answered your query. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Dr. Ashakiran S,
