Does Xanax Cause Sleepiness And Slurred Speech And How Long It Takes To Recover?

My wife took 0.25mg of Xanax - she became sleepy & had slurred speech. Dr. recommended sleep, fluids. What is a normal recovery time & is there anything that can be done to accelerate recovery? This was the 1st and only time she has used this med. She does not tolerate any med very well. Thank you but I decline to pay for your answer. please do not trans mit your answer.

Hello,
I have gone through your query and understand your concern.
These are all the usual effects of Alprazolam.
She took the prescribed dose and not more than that, thus nothing to worry about.
Let her to sleep and take rest.
It act on the brain and nerves (central nervous system) to produce a calming effect and lead to sleep.
You need not necessary to wake up and she will get up in 6 to 10 hours after her sleep and it varies from individual to individual.
It is the tolerable dose by most of us.

Hope this helps.
Please write back for further queries.
Wishing you good health.
