Does A Negative D-Dimer Test Indicate Blood Clot?

Ok heres my story-

three days ago I went to the ER with chest pains, and leg pains. They did an xray and a D Dimer test and both were fine. Well the next day my right thigh started hurting. In my inner thigh near my private :) and down my inner thigh, also it kind of moves around to the front of my thigh. Should I be worried about a blood clot if I had a negative D Dimer test?? I guess im being a little paranoid and would really love some reassurance

thank you!

also- I had a complete blood workup done and a EKG, both perfectly fine, and the xray i had was a chest xray!

Thanks for contacting HCM with your medical questions and concerns.

You are concerned about having a blood clot in your leg. From the description of your symptoms the pain on the inner thigh is not associated with blood clots. The usual signs and symptoms of blood clots is swelling redness and pain to the lower calf muscles. Since you recently had a D dimer the likelihood of a clot is remote.

Hope this answered your question. Please contact HCM again with your medical concerns and questions
