Does Bursitis Cause Moderate Pain In Arm After Flu Shot?
My wife recently had a flu shot and her left arm (arm of injection) is immobile. At rest there is moderate pain, and when moved there is extreme pain. Internet research tells me it is likely bursitis. What treatments would normally be given for bursitis? My wife is also 18 weeks pregnant. Are there alternative treatments to protect the well being of the baby?
Having the arm of injection immobile is because pain feeling after injection, especially if vaccine is injected intramusculary. Patients who received intradermal injection have reported less pain or soreness.
To my opinion, she is not having bursitis (unless she has been suffering of arthritis previously).
Usually, no treatment is needed for the soreness. It will subside on its one in few days.
If symptoms will persist or getting worst, should contact her physician.
