Infectious Diseases Specialist, Dr. Praveen G's Response
Hello, Welcome to HCM,
The history and symptoms are suggestive of some viral infection and the symptoms of very swollen gland, inability to swallow, headache, earaches and body aches are in favor of viral infection.
As your doctor has advised some medications which has led to reduction of the symptoms. The symptoms will come down in 2-3 days with the medicines prescribed by your doctor.
It is very difficult to name the strain based on the symptoms mentioned in the history. Thank you.
