Does Ginet-84 Stop Pre-menstrual Breakouts In Skin?

Hello, I am taking oratane for my skin. Before being prescribed oratane by my dermatologist, I went to see a general doctor who prescribed me with GINET-84 contraceptive pills to try first to see if it helps with my skin. I have been taking oratane for 2.5 months now and I took the GINET-84 for a month now. I have had REALLY bad breakouts 1-2weeks before my period and I am now a week away from my period but the breakouts have calmed down a lot. I was wondering if the pills have helped with the pre-menstrual breakout and whether if, I stop taking it, those breakouts will come back? Also, I have finished my yellow tablets and I just took the sugar pill for today. Is that the correct way of continuing with the pills? And when I finish the 1st pack tomorrow, move on with the sugar-pill with the new pack? Thank you

Hi,

Ginet-84 contains both cryproterone and ethinyl estradiol which is used to treat symptoms of polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) like excessive hair growth, acnes and irregular periods. It also works as a contraceptive to prevent pregnancy. How long to use Ginet-84 depends on the severity of your symptoms and the response to treatment. Usually, treatment is over several months. Acne and seborrhea usually respond faster than hirsutism. Ginet-84 should be taken for at least another 3-4 cycles after symptoms have gone.

Ginet-84 is a pack containing 21 small, yellow, active tablets and 7 large, white, non active tablets for 28 days of a calendar. When hormonal contraceptive hasn't been used in the past month, starting on the first day of the period, take Ginet-84 for the corresponding day of the week in the red area of the calendar pack (eg, if the period starts on a Sunday, take the first tablet from the spot marked Sunday in the red section).

Continue taking 1 tablet daily until all tablets in the calendar pack have been taken. This includes all of the yellow active tablets and the white non active tablets. Start taking the next new tablet from the next calendar pack on the day after the last tablet on the first calendar pack. Follow the arrows on the pack for the corresponding day of the week.

Take care. Hope I have answered your questions. Let me know if I can assist you further.
