Hi. My mother has been told she has chapped eyes. The outter skin around the eyeball. It appears to look dry and scaley like chapped hands. She has glaucoma and the pressure has suddenly gone crazy recently prior to finding out about the chapped eyes. Is this related? All the research I ve done online talks about the clogging of the drainage canal but nothing about what happens. She is on drops but something just doesn t seem to be right and my stubborn mother won t call the doctor. I m needing some info in order to step in and try to get her to go.
Hi If your mother has confirmed glaucoma, it needs regular follow up with atleast measurement of eye pressure (IOP) , FIELD Testing and fundus examination every 3 months or so to know the out come of treatment.
It has probably no relation with chapped skin around eyes. Though prolonged use of eye drops may some time cause dry eyes. Take care of that.
