Does Hypothyroidism Cause Difficulty In Getting Pregnant?
i am 29 yrs old and married four month before in the month of nov, in the month of jan doctor has consult me that i am having a hypothyroid problem and again this month doctor has consult me that my insulin is high does all this will effect me in getting pregrant.
Hello and thank you for asking! High TSH level may be a cause of infertility. In order to get pregnant the TSH shoud be 2.5. You didn't mention the level but if it is higher i would recommend you to start the treatment with levothyroxine and after 6 weeks to see its effect. You didn't mention your age and weight, but if you have oligoamenorrea, are overweight and the insuline level is high, starting treatment with metformine may help to stabilize the menstrual cycle and ovulation. Hope the information will help. Kind regards, Dr.Mirjeta
