Hi, i am 27 years old. i am having irregular periods for past one year. while checking with doctor, i came to know that i am having bilateral polycystic ovaries. today is my 12th day of menopause and still i results with no dominant follicles. could you please help what i have to do next? is i need to put injuction to grow follicles?
Polycystic ovarian syndrome (PCOS) is a hormonal imbalance disorder causing irregular menstrual cycle and untimely ovulation leading to difficulty in conceiving. However, it is a treatable condition and when medications are taken to correct them, there is a possibility of improving the chances of conceiving.
If your periods have been regular now and there are no dominant follicles on 12 th day, you might need ovulation induction done by means of medications like clomiphene, with or without metformin.
Along with the medications, kindly consume low carbohydrate diet and exercise regularly to reduce weight and to keep your weight under check.
Kindly consult Gynecologist for further evaluation and management.
Hope the information provided would be helpful. All the best.
