Does Itchy Rash On My Breast Caused Due To Oak Poisoning?
Hi, I am a single 50 year female who has had an itchy rash on my right breast above my nipple. Two years ago I came in contact with poison oak and am wondering if maybe it is my poison oak . I have had it for two months now and is not going away. Having a shower or bath aggravates it and causes it to go more red. I have been using Cortate on it and it does help somewhat but it is not clearing it up. Just when I think it is getting better it kind of flares up again. I have not seen a doctor yet, because I have thought it is my poison oak again, but now I'm wondering if it is something else.
Hello and welcome to HCM. Since poison oak causes an allergic dermatitis which is immediate, and you had come in contact with poison oak 2 years back, that certainly rules out the possibility.
With the limited information about the rash, it seems like a form of dermatitis, usually atopic dermatitis gets worsened after a hot bath. In that case continue using cortate cream or shift to a little more potent steroid after consulting to physician.
I hope i was helpful. feel free to followup the query but please attach a picture next time for a better suggestion. Thank you.
