Does Occasional Pain In The Upper Chest Occur Because Of Cardiac Cath And DX And How Long It Will Last In 82 Yr Old Female?

My mother, age 82, had chest pain, so went to the local ED, rushed to get a cardiac cath done, no stent was needed, DX was a diasecting thoracic aortic anurysm, not surgically repaired. she still has occasional pain across her upper chest, but it comes and goes. is this from the procedure? or her DX? how long will that last?

Hi i read your query very carefully.

The pain your mother is experiencing may be more due to musculosceletal pain and procedures.

Thoracic aneurysm don't cause pain till it disecate.

So if the pain become strong and intense run imediately to ER because this is a sign of disecation of aorta.

Hope it answered to your query!
