Does Smoking Cause Weight Loss ?

My friend has been smoking of about 20 years and she has developed a cough, and recently lost weight, she was skinny to start with but has now gone down even more, you can see her bones stick out of her chest , please tell me what is wrong with her, i love her too much to lose her.

there are various reasons why she might be having these symptoms. common one being tuberculosis, COPD or more serious condition like Cancer. She needs to consult a doctor and get all investigation done including chest CT scan which will help in diagnosis and further management.
