Does Taking Armour Thyroid Lead To Any Internal Bleeding Issues?

Hello. I am a 42 year old female and have struggled with low ferritin levels. At last blood draw, my ferritin was 22 but my total iron was a little high at 189. I have been supplementing with only about 20 mg but now have raised it to 40 mg of iron daily. My zinc is also low at 65. I also am hypothyroid and take 60 mg of armour thyroid daily. I have read that it is very common for hypo patients to also have low blood ferritin levels. I would love to raise them as my hands and feet are always cold- especially when I exercise outdoors. I believe that I am otherwise healthy in a healthy weight and blood pressure- I just experience ongoing hair shedding. Should I worry about any internal bleeding issues?

Hi, dear
I have gone through your question. I can understand your concern.

You have hypothyroidism and low ferritine level.

Hypothyroidism has no relation with internal bleeding.

Your cold intolerance and hair shedding is due to hypothyroidism so you need to increase the dosage of armour. Go for T3, T4 and TSH level and adjust the dosage accordingly.

Low ferritine level is due to iron deficiency anemia. So take iron treatment accordingly.

Hope I have answered your question. If you have any doubts then feel free to ask me. I will be happy to answer.
