Orthopaedic Surgeon, Joint Replacement 's  Response
Hi, thanks for writing to HCM.

This is just to inform you that pentoxifylline is indicated for patients with chronic occlusive peripheral vascular diseases in the extremities (particularly intermittent claudication) and not for Neuropathic pains. So, this particular drug in no way helps to reduce the neuropathic pain for your dad. Propably, your dad might be having some associated arterial disorder also for which your treating doctor might have prescribed pentoxifylline.

I suggest you to approach your doctor and discuss the issues.

Hope this information is helpful. Good day
