Does Thyroid Pill Interfere With Glucose Being Below 100?
I found out a few mo. ago i have type 2 diabetes. I am 77 years old, female, ht. 5ft. 3in. average to underweight. I don't think i am controlling my sugar very well. This morning before eating anything it was 164. It has never been that high before while fasting. I did take my thyroid pill and a glass of water. Could that interfere with glucose being below 100?
Hi, i had gone through your query and understood your concerns.
Mam, Thyroid pill doesn't interfere with the sugar levels.
Blood sugar levels some times vary slightly depending on what we eat and physical activity. If this repeats more than twice, then we test HbA1c which gives past 3 months sugar levels. if that shows higher level, then you need to discuss with your treating doctor regarding increase of dosage of medicine.
But for now, only one test level you need not worry much. Thats quiet normal.
Hope this guides you. For any other queries you can write to us. we will be happy to help you. Thank you. Dr Phanindra Dulipala Diabetologist.
