Does Toothpaste Help In Reducing The Sore Boil On My Buttock?

hey i have a very sore boil on my bottom for 3 days trying to power through it but cant sleep at night, have tried hot water on flannel for bout 6-7 mins, and also tried this cream i got from doctors ages ago but its stll as sore maybe even worse. its a slight purple colour now. can i pop it? does toothpaste work?
