Does Weight Have A Effect On Drosperanon Dose?

hi i am 26 years old, 73kg and 5 feet 3 inches in height. i was prescribed drosperanon as OCP 1 month prior to my marriage. i took it for 2 cycles. 1st cycle went okay but in my 2nd cycle i experienced spotting in most of the days. i was then asked to take gynae cvp n tranexamic acid for the same but that was not much of the solution. doc says drosperanon dose is less as per my body weight. should i continue with it? i also have weight gain tendency so am scared for the same.

Hi,

Oral contraceptive pill dose should not be doubled in case of over-weight women. It will only cause increase in side effects and does not have any added benefit. I would suggest you to reduce your weight within normal BMI since reduction in weight itself can bring about hormonal balance and can regulate your menstrual cycles. You can continue with the same dose of the pill.

Take care. Hope I have answered your question. Let me know if I can assist you further.

Regards,
