Dry Patches On Lips, Flaky And Peeling. No Pain. Dry Lips Or Herpes Symptom?
I am a 14 year old female. Ive noticed over the past few days that i have these dry patches on my lip mainly the inner corner. The patch it looks flaky-ish and it looks like its peeling. I cant help but pick at it, but i dont want to make it worse. Ive also started seeing the same thing on my upper lip. There isnt any pain, i dont know whether i just have dry lips or its herpes or something. Please help me !!!!!
From your description, the more likely possibility is that this is just due to dry lips. The lesions of oral herpes are different and usually appears as fluid filled blisters. There is also associated redness and pain. Dry lips are very common because lip skin does not have any sweat glands. Exposure to cold dry weather, acute sun exposure and deficiency of B-complex vitamins can cause dry lips. Avoid these and use a lip salve frequently to prevent dryness. Many brands are available in the market and you can try any one. Also take care to avoid dehydration.
Hope this helps you. Best wishes.
