Dryness, Itchiness Under Armpits, Lot Of Sweat. Is It Perimenopause?

Hi, I've recently turned 48 okay and I'm a woman. I 've been unemployed for eleven months and the apartment in which I'm in is old, absorbs a lot of humidity, dryness, whatever. This is just background stuff, might be helpful. About two months ago I started noticing, and it hasn't gone away, a kind of dryness, itchiness under armpits that I have never experienced before. I've searched today online and it seems that one cause might have to do with perimenopause. I've used a Whole Foods 70 of 80% "natural" or organic, forget what kind of soap for shower. Am very puzzled as to the sudden onset of this. This morning when I ended up walking to church I sweated a bit, which probably helped. The itchiness seems to lessen on the days when there's more humidity here in Skokie, IL. Am I sharing too much unecessary stuff? Have never had a problem with hygiene before and am absolutely baffled as to reading online that you should clean your armpits twice a day. Anything I can answer for you on this smiles? Tanya

Hello Tanya and welcome.

Yes, in my opinion ir could be hormone related. Hormone levels start gluctuating and go haywire during and around menopause.

Your presentation does match a hormone inbalance and I would recommend a visit to the doctor for an elaborate evaluation or just starting with a simple hormone level check with the help of a blood investigation.

Hope this helps.

Best wishes.
