Due For Actemra Infusion. AST 92, ALT 131, Gamma GT 33. Serious?
hi My mums AST is 92 and her ALT is 131. Her GP has also underlined the Gamma GT 33. Her Consultant Rheumetologist is on leave for three weeks and it would help if you could let me know if this is dangerous, as she is due for her Actemra Infusion at the end of the month. She has been having Actemra infusions for about two years now.......
Hi and thanks for the query, It s true that the liver function tests show abnormal results for AST, ALt and Gamma GT. However, interpretation of these results needs certain things to be taken into consideration. Is this the first time the patient is experiencing an abnormal liver function tests? what were the former liver function test results compared to these? Any liver or gal bladder disease? The values are raised but however to not pose a serious threat not to wait. It would however be interesting to carryout further testing to know exactly why these abnormal results. I would suggest she continues with her treatment as prescribed. But she has never had an abnormal liver function test before, she might need to consult another physician as she waits to see her rheumatologist. Thanks and best regards, Luchuo, MD.
