Elevated CPK. Lupus Ruled Out. Family History Of Polymyositis, Fibromyalgia. Unable To Work Due To Muscle, Joint Pain. Suggestions?
Hi ....I have an elevated CPK....normal aldolase.....lupus has been ruled out....so could I possible have a connective tissue disease.....family hx of polymyositis, and fibromyalgia (2 cousins)....could I have fibromyalgia? or maybe even more than one disorder?....unable to work due to muscle and joint pain...and "mentaql fog" I am a nurse.....here in NY seeking answers....must return to Florida next week....unable to work for the past 5 months. Totally frustrated!! Now on Medicaid and no one (private physician) in Florida is willing to see me be because of the "insurance issue"!!!
Hi As cpk is high it suggest muscular pathology. Cpk is an enzyme released in blood when muscle tissue gets break down. There are sub types of cpk which gives you exact idea as which muscle tissue is affected. Surely you may be having connective tissue disorder as your family history is positive. You need to consult some good ortheopaedic surgeon. As at specific interval cpk test and your muscle wasting your muscle power and your kidney functioning status has to be checked. Get well soon.
