Experiencing A Pain At The Right Of The Navel And It Goes Away When I Goes To Bathroom
Every so often, I have a pain about the level of my navel, but to the right of the navel maybe 5 . The pain goes away after I go to the bathroom, or pass gas. Happens particularly when I eat too much, or too fast. This has been happening for about 20 years (yes). One Gastro MD said he was confident it was a kink in my colon. I would like an MRI, but my current MD says no, only a colonoscopy, which I really don t want.
Hi. Thanks for your query. Noted the history about suffering from pain on the right side of naval for the last 20 years, which goes away after passing stool or gases, Gastroenterologist said is due to kink in the large bowel and needs colonoscopy which you want to avoid and hence wants to know whether MRI can tell.... No MRI is not a good investigations for colon or small intestine as it is a moving part, MRI needs organs that are not moving. If you do not want colonoscopy, then you can request for Contrast enhanced CT can with Virtual colonoscopy or barium studies. This can give you the most proper diagnosis and a plan for proper management.
