External Hemorrhoids. Planning To Do HAL-RAR. Worried About Side Effects. Suggestions?
I am deciding whether to do hal rar. I have external hemorrhoids but no bleeding or pain, not bothering me much except for the bulge between my buttock cheek, cleaning issue. Seen a colorectal surgeon and he said hal rar can solve my problem but I will be left with skin tags which he can excise as well. Heard a lot of negative reviews regarding hal rar recovery. Is it worth it to give it a go?
Hello.
Thanks for using HCM.
Hemorrhoidal Artery Ligation ( HAL) surgical procedure is generally a safe operation with few risks like most other surgical procedures. Potential risks include infection, tearing of the back all of anal canal and thrombosis of the hemorrhoid. Usually which ever surgical procedure is followed for hemorrhoid removal carries with it few risks in the recovery phase. The colo-rectal surgeon will be able to give the best assessment.
