Extreme Swelling And Pain In Lower Abdomen. Have History Of Hysterectomy & Endometriosis. What Could This Be?

I have been having extreme swelling & achiness from my belly button down to groin area. I have had a hysterectomy 6 years ago & had Endometriosis. I also had a C-section. When, I had my hysterectomy, they had to remove tissue that was making my organs grow together. I can hardly handle the uncomfortable feeling anymore. Any ideas? I have Fibromyalgia. Also, I had intercourse a month ago & it made me hurt & have been hurting since. Protection was used & it had been a year prior to that when I had been intimate with someone. I am concerned & I work as a nurse, so I have a lot of stress & a very busy job. I would appreciate your input. Thanks for responding ahead of time. It is appreciated.

Anesthesiologist 's  Response
Hello,
There are plenty of causes for lower abdominal pain and swelling.
As you already had hysterectomy and endometriosis and also C- section, it is difficult to diagnose the cause for pain and swelling in lower abdomen without any physical examination and further investigations.
Thus i recommend you to do the following investigations.
1. Ultrasound abdomen and pelvis
2. Abdominal x-ray
3. Abdominal CT scan
4. Blood tests such as CBC and blood chemistry
5. Colonoscopy
6. Sigmoidoscopy
7. Hysteroscopy

Before all these investigations, Physical examination following thorough pelvic examination by Gynaecologist is very essential.

Hope this helps.
