For over a week now I have been extremely thirsty all the time and have been drinking to try and combat this and so urinate more. Yesterday I had stomach cramps which were soon sorted by eating having only toast for breakfast and today having the cramps again, at a later time after having porridge and felt very weak and was shaking whilst making something to eat. I also woke up very tired this morning even though I had over 9 hours sleep and fell asleep at 1pm and waking up at 4pm. However I don't seem to urinate too much at night. My Mum also has an under active Thyroid and I am worried this could be Diabetes but am also worried I am jumping to the wrong conclusion and it is a virus and stress mixed together.
you can check your blood glucose tested and thyroid hormone tested. this will provide yoy the confirmation of whether you have the diabetes or not and also you have thyroid dysfunction or not
I went for a test yesterday and had a Blood Sugar reading of 4.9 (UK) 4 hours after eating a Chicken Pasta Pot, some crisps a bit of a cookie and about 250ml of Sprite. I told the nurse that my Mum has an under-active thyroid and my Great Uncle is type2 diabetic, age related.
She has booked me in for a full blood test in 3 weeks time, but said I am eating too much processed food which is causing me to hypo. However that reading did scare me being so close to a hypo and think that they are just being cautious for the moment or could the nurse be right. I eat very little processed food normally and that lunch is probably the most I have had for a lunch in weeks.
Normally I eat cereal in the morning, have a tin of beans or spagehtti for lunch and a homemade cooked dinner most of the time, so I eat very little processed food in comprison to most people so it makes me wonder. Any ideas or should i calm down and stop worrying for the moment
