Felt Like Heart Attack, Squeeze Feeling In Chest, Back Pain, Trouble In Breathing. Is It Gas?
Went to the Er tonight bc I swear it felt like I was having a heart attack . Squeeze like feeling around my chest, upper back pain , trouble breathing . Came quickly. Waves of pain after 30 minutes. 1 hour layer a d it s gone. EKG normal, blood work normal and chest X-ray good. He said gas? I have never felt anything like this b4 in my life. Could it really just be gas?
It could be ‘gas’ - but it is a vague term and has different meanings to different people.
A normal EKG is reassuring...
You should go for further investigations –
The next step is stress test. TMT (Treadmill Exercise ECG) / preferably with thallium isotope – will be the ideal way to evaluate ischemia. This is to assess the physiology (function).
If there is a suggestion, the next step is to see the anatomy. You may need catheterisation and coronary angiography with a view for possible intervention. Coronary arteriography is invasive but it is the gold standard for this.
Better be safe than sorry - treated if a problem is found / Happy, if it turns out otherwise
Take care
Wishing speedy recovery
God bless
Good luck
