Felt Someone Screaming In The Ear. Now Ear Is Hurting, Feeling It In Teeth, Jawbone, Neck. Need Medical Attention?
Hi, I need some advice. Someone screamed, in a very deep voice, in my right ear this morning. I know that sounds childish, and it was, but I couldn't get away from them and it lasted for at least 30 seconds. My ear hurt immediately following and has not stopped. I find some relief in holding my ear and applying a slight pressure to my head. I can feel it in my teeth, jawbone, and neck. Could I have some damage? Do I need medical attention? What can I do to make it better, it's very painful and bothersome.
Hello, Thanks for writing to us. The ear pain due to exposure to high pitch sound usually becomes normal as usual after 3-4 days. Apply cold as well as hot packs intermittently. Physiotherapic exercises has to be done. The teeth and jaws has to be immobilized functionally for a while. Please do visit an ENT specialist as well as oral-maxillofacial surgeon for further reference. Take complete course of antibiotics-analgesics. Take care.
