Flu, Sensitive Gums, Tingling And Sore. Is This Normal ?

hello dr, i had/have flu for the last couple days, but since yesterday my gums are really sensitive (swollen perhaps) tingling and sore. is this normal? i also had a sandwich with deli meat yesterday (and i am thinking if its the cheese and the high sodium content of the meat that caused this irritation in my gums). is this normal? what can i do to feel better. thanx
