Hi,
As per your symptoms, you seem to be suffering from an intercostal muscle catch; any trauma to the rib cage also should be excluded. You will need local and systemic analgesics for relief. Cramping can happen at the time of ovulation, just before a period and during or after an intercourse due to the release of the hormone Oxytocin during the sexual activity. Pregnancy chances are more if you happened to be in the fertile period at the time of the intercourse. Please see a physician for further appraisal of the situation. Wish you good health.
