Foot Hurts After Kicking Chair. Mild Swelling, Bruise. Elevated And Iced. Healing Time?
I kicked a chair with the top left of my foot(very rare temper loss) and about two hours later my foot hurts, i cant walk on it but it hurts in different places than i kicked it. Bottom right radiating up and over to where i kicked it. Theres mild swelling all over and a bruise where i kicked it. I have it elevated and iced. It did not hurt while i was sitting in place with my shoes on. It was a surprise it hurt when i stood up
Hi, It is seen quite often that pain usually starts a few hours after the actual trauma,as is your case.Pain sensation is carried by nerves and each of these nerves carry pain from a particular area.Thats the reason pain is experienced, not only at the injured site but also the surrounding areas. That is the entire area supplied by that nerve will hurt.Oedema is a nutural response to injury.Tearing of small blood vessels within would also result in swelling. When you put your feet up, the oedema fluid will reduce due to increased return of blood to heart by gravity.Hence pain is less. When you stand up or walk more fluid accumulates inside, the pressure within the compartment increases and hence more pain. Hope it clears
