Foot Injury, Rug Burn Just Above Ankle, Pins And Needles Sensation Under Foot. Treatment?
I missed the last couple of steps 5 days ago. My foot went backwards and i heard a snap and have a small rug burn just above my ankle. Went to er and dr and both says no breaks, but when i accidentally put any weight on foot feels liks a thousand pins and needles on the bottom of my foot. What can be causing this? I m off work as I am on my feet 8 hour on a concrete floor. I m 5 4 tall and weigh about 160.
Hello,
If you heard a snap then it is most likely that you have a torn ligament in your ankle. Therefore, you should give rest to the ankle as partial tears of ligaments, also known as sprains are known to heal by themselves if given time and rest. You should not bear any form of weight in that foot and if you want to put on light weight, the ankle should be supported with application of a crepe bandage. Along with that, you need to take analgesics on a regular basis which would decrease the inflammation and help with healing. Keep your affected foot elevated while sleeping and do not keep it dependent when awake.
