Foot Injury, Swelling, Redness, Dull Pain, Sharp Pain. Put Ice On It. Due To Sprain?
I tripped over a curb and my left foot rolled outwards. It was swollen right after it happened. I iced it a put it up. The next day the top left side is red and swollen and I have a dull ache. I can walk on it but if I step wrong on it I get a sharp pain. Did I just sprain it? trying to hold off from a Dr visit if I don t need to go.
Since you are able to walk, mostly there wont be any bony injuries. But still undisplaced malleolar fracture(s) can be there as you have developed red swelling. I would suggest you to take a Xray to rule-out bony injury.
What you are doing is right. Keep Ice pack, elevate your limb and apply crepe bandage in your leg. I would suggest you to avoid weight bearing on the side for 2-3 weeks as there is always a tendency to get injured again while walking with pain & limp.
Get well soon.
