Foot Pain In Tarsal Joint Area, Foot Clicking On Walking. Stretches Not Helping. Treatment?
My foot hurts in the transverse tarsal joint area. It hurt during the spring soccer season, then I rested it over the summer and it was 100% fine then earlier i went for a run and it seemed fine. After I did the stretches that the physio had recommended (i went in the spring and it hardly helped) and my foot clicked and it has hurt to walk on ever since...soccer starts again tomorrow....please help me!
Since you are finding difficulty in walking, i would suggest you to take and Xray of your foot/ankle to rule-out any body injuries. Even when Xray is normal, if there is associated swelling at the injured site, it is advisable to give rest to your foot/ankle for atleast 3 weeks either by cast/bandage. Consult your doctor and get examined properly to take appropriate xray and proceed with the treatment.
Till that time, avoid bearing weight in the foot, keep ice pack over painful area, elevate your leg over 2 pillows. If swelling is there keep crepe bandage applied.
Get well soon.
