Found Large Densities In Thyroid With Vascularity. Soreness Around Liver. Help?

they found large densities with in thyroid with vascularity....had a us done last week but will not get results till 2 more days..i have had rib cage pain for a long time and soreness around liver , always told it was muscular or inflamamtion..am very anxious about all this. i am 67, female and recent widow..can you help explain some of this

Hello,

The densities with vascularity around the thyroid gland needs to be investigated. You should get a fine needle aspiration and microscopic examination of the cells from the density in thyroid and rule out cancerous changes.

The rib cage pain can be a different entity. It can be due to muscular pain or bony pain in the superficial structures. It can also be due to an underlying inflamed gall bladder or a inflamed liver tissue. You should get a liver function test done and a ultrasound study of abdomen to make sure that there is nothing serious.
